Just like the Obamas

Like the Obamas, Tex and I have started our garden!

It's growing in pots/a small greenhouse that sits on my bureau right now, but in May we'll move it outside. The best part? I just spotted our first little sprouts!!

We started everything from seed this year (last year, we bought one little tomato plant and six red pepper plants). In our new garden, you will find (we hope): basil, parsley, chives, oregano, daisies, snap peas, cucumbers, spinach, tomatoes, multicolor peppers, and cantaloupe.

The herbs may live in a pot on my screened-in porch if the plot we have to work with off the patio seems a little crowded. I am seriously so excited!

Another positive, Tex said in passing, "Well, that will keep us in the apartment until at least September." So... maybe no move until the fall, and "keep us"? I don't want to jinx it by stating the obvious, I'm just hoping it's true.
